Delugees Environment Organization (DEO) is a community-rooted initiative in Kenya, dedicated to equipping the next generation with the knowledge, skills, and action needed to fight climate change.
“Delugees” is derived from the English word “deluge,” meaning floods, to describe people displaced or disadvantaged by extreme weather like floods or simply “climate refugees”.
Delugees Environment Organization (DEO) exists to nurture the next generation of climate leaders by pairing climate education with practical, hands-on restoration. We work with schools and communities to establish tree nurseries, teach environmental stewardship, and mobilize local action.
Introducing children to the great outdoors can also lead to higher academic performance, reduced stress levels and improved social skills.
By equipping climate-affected communities with knowledge and tools, we empower them to restore their environment and rebuild their dignity.
Every seedling planted is a promise of cleaner air, improved food security, and a more climate-resilient future.
